Wednesday, April 25, 2007 So yeah, since I'm too happy to sleep, I might as well post up the gazillion pictures I have. The month of April has been a pretty happening month. Took tonnes of pictures from my KK Trip, random outings with the girls and lastly Chenn Chenn's burfday. So here are the long overdue Sabah pictures. Wheeeeeeeee!! *Warning: Picture diarrhea ahead. Not dial-up friendly. At all.* So the day started off with Kim Hong and I meeting up at the KTM station but apparently there was some disruption with some power supply/circuit/whatever thingy and our train was gonna be late. So my dear hero papa had to send us to KL Sentral during the gila morning rush hour (which we feared would cause us to miss the bus and the flight and the whole trip altogether) so that we can make it in time for our 8am SkyBus. Anyhoo, as you can see in the picture above we managed to board the bus. And both of them look awfully happy. We reached LCCT just in time to check-in. At the check-in counter, Kim Hong said the most 'pantang-est' phrase ever in times of travel. "Eh, I cannot find my IC lah". In the most panic striken face I've ever seen. My heart literally dropped. That is seriously like the baddest case in a bad case senario. What to do? The bitchy counter guy was threatening to close the counter. "Oi wanna check-in or not. I need to close the counter already. Can only check-in 3 of you." It was like he was testing our friendship. Like asking us to choose between our poor friend or our trip which we have been looking forward to since December. It was a no brainer. We chose to check-in. HAHA! But Kim Hong managed to get a later flight on the same day which explains our happy faces in the picture above. Though our happy faces soon turned into sour, grumpy, sweaty faces because our flight was delayed for one freaking hour because our plane ran out of fuel and had to re-fuel. 0.o Woah. One thing I don't get though, is it a procedure to turn off the air conditioning when a plane re-fuels? Because the amount of air pumped out by the air-cond panel above my head was equivalent to the amount of air pumped out when I fart. It was freaking stuffy. Kenny's forehead was practically raining. But of course, we did take off and off we flew into the clouds. Wheeeee! I love flying because I love looking at the clouds. It's like another kingdom up there. This particular picture reminds me of a story in a Doraemon comic book where Doraemon sprays something into the clouds and forms a swimming pool. And something to do with a Pintu Ajaib too. x) I love this picture. I wish I knew how to make the clouds outside the window more distinct though. Someone teach me. So purrdy... This is the Awan Kumulonimbus we all studied in Geography Form 2. I will always remember because one day I'm gonna name something of mine Kumulonimbus. It's a mouthful but it's cool and one of a kind. Apparently the pressure in the plane got a lil' wonky and was closer to the pressure outside the plane than it should've been. Lookee what it did to the bottle. Cool yeah? That is until Andrew started complaining about a sharp pain above his eyes and looked really in pain. He said he could feel the blood in his veins throbbing. Silently, I was panicking and freaking out because I thought what was happening to the bottle was happening to him (which isn't that far from the truth). I was so afraid that his veins were gonna burst or something. Thank God they didn't. Peace was restored and our journey continued. We took a taxi to our hotel, Radius Hotel which is a very new hotel in KK City. This is the view from the hotel. Not too bad la. By the way, KK City is old. Very old. So we ker-plonked onto our beds to rest while waiting for Kim Hong to arrive. I dosed off because I was extremely tired due to staying up the whole night before trying to finish my assignment. When Kim Hong arrived, he told us how he ran out of credit, how his plane was delayed, how the plane only had central air-conditioning and how his taxi broke down 5 minutes away from our hotel because it ran out of petrol. Days like this do exist people. For our dinner, we walked to a recommended seafood restaurant just 5 minutes away from our hotel. KK City is so small you can literally walk anywhere. I ate that fella. Now I feel bad. Nah, not really. Dinner on the first night! Very expensive too. I think we kena con. But the lobster was good. x) The second day was island hopping day so we made our way to Jessleton Harbour. Quite a pretty sight. Kenny and Melia at Jessleton Harbour. Kenny enjoying the Clear blue water is love. Make you wanna lick it all up yeah? Showing of my snorkelling gear. Woohoo! Me snorkelling n00b. Heh. I love this picture. Gwoup picture on the Jetty of Sapi Island. Another incredibly breathtakingly beautiful picture. I love how blue the water is. Andrew and Kim Hong went Parasailing. Parasailing in Sabah is wayyyyy safer than in Penang. In Sabah they have this machine that reels in the rope so you land safely back on the boat. No pulling, tugging and the risk of breaking your bones crashing into trees like in Penang. Kenny calls it the Sabahan Technology. While I was sun-bathing, the boys kacau-ed this poor monitor lizard. It's quite ugly. Come to think of it, all reptiles are cursed with horrible features. Slit eyes, flat noses and really really rough skin. Think about it. It sucks to be them. My tanning oil sucks. Only my arms and my legs got tanned and I was almost dying of heat stroke so I gave up and chilled with the boys. Now I look like a patchy-skinned zebra. The highlight of the trip was swimming away from jellyfishes. We were happily snorkelling around bullying fishes and I got tired of snorkelling around the same area. So I suggested to go pass the floating green balls (which acts as a marker of how far you should go) so we can see more corals and fishies. While we're busying looking out for more interesting things to see, Andrew suddenly pops out and says "Err...guys..I think we better head back to shore. Got damn lotsa jellyfish here." So we panicked and swam for our lives. We were 1 km away from shore. Add a dose of adrenaline and lotsa panic and you get 4 frantic tired freaked-out snorkeller. I never swam so fast and far in my entire life. Because I was busy dunking my head underwater so I can swim faster, I actually swam in the wrong direction. So I was heading further away from shore instead of nearer to it. By the time I reached the shore, I never felt so happy being on land. Now I know why sailors kiss the ground when reach shore. Yeay! We out-swam the jellyfishes! I love jump jump pictures. XD A pretty picture of the jetty. The boys waiting on the jetty for the stupid boatman who's late and pissing everyone off. While we're waiting we fed the fishies garlic bread. Pui Yee said I just mass murdered a good number of fishies. x( I hope that's not true. Bimbo moment. I have one too. Reached the jetty of Manukan Island. It's a resort and very commercialized me thinks. I honestly prefer Sapi Island. View from Manukan Island. The darkish thingy in the water are corals. The beach at Manukan Island. We didn't snorkel here because we were too worn out from all the jellyfish action. We were bored.... So we entertained ourselves... With lots and lots of pictures! Third day was spent souvenir shopping and just an hour before check-in time we went to Tanjung Aru beach to catch the sunset. Happy pictures. x) Swirly sand. This is one of the many reasons that explains my love for the beach. Fuwahhhhhhhh. So nice right. XD I love this picture of Kenny. I tried to get him to take a nice one of me but it turned out not so nice. x( We were all sipping coconut juice while watching the sunset. Ahhhh bliss! Andrew and I with our coconuts. Somehow that sounds really wrong. Oh whatever. x) And after all that and a smooth check-in, we were on our way back home. I had a really fun time. x) It's 6.40 am. Hurrah! Time for class!
